LEGACY - Nilgiri has been standing strong since 1965. Nilgiri folks aspire high, achieve high. Alumni from Nilgiri have been writing golden legacies ,be it sports or extra curricular activities or academics. Whenever it comes to street-play Nil-Bulls have always raised the bar. The best street-play performers have come from this household and joined the institute’s squad. Nilgiri has been continuously dominating in sports especially Aquatics. Nil-Bulls believe that “Team Work Makes The Dream Work” and you are more than just an IITian when you’re here.
Nilgiri (Your Hostel at IIT Delhi) would always have a very special place in your hearts. This is where you spent most of your time at campus and in a way, it is like your home away from home, forever!
IIT Delhi is expanding the capacity of old Hostels, in this process the older structures will give way to contemporary & world-class living spaces, reimagined by leading architects & experts. The new Nilgiri Hostel is being built with the contribution of Alumni and your generosity towards your hostel will go a long way in providing a great platform to students to develop into world leaders.

Worldwide, endowment funds have been established by global education institutions to secure their long-term financial stability and support their programs. They operate by accepting donations from their alumni, corporates and philanthropists and invest the proceeds of those donations to generate investment income.
The income generated is utilized to fund activities for the benefit of these institutions, many of them for perpetuity. Many institutions abroad have run their endowment funds for several decades and boast fund sizes running into billions of dollars each.
